M.A in Comparative Literature
M.A in Comparative Literature is one of the most demanding courses among the students of the country. Literature is the art of written works. Literally translated, the word mean ‘acquaintance with letters’ and therefore the academic study of literature is known as Letters (as in the phrase ‘arts and letters’). The students applying for this course need to be hard working and meritorious to carry on with the study of this course.
This course deals with the study of history of regional languages, poems, drama and plays, life of famous authors, prose, genres of literature, literary techniques, literary criticism, oral literature, etc.
Eligibility:
The candidates applying for M.A in Comparative Literature should hold a pass certificate of 10 and 10+2 form any recognized University or board of the country. The candidate applying for this course should complete their bachelor’s degree under any registered University of the country. The marks of admission for this course vary from University to University. Many Universities even conducts entrance exam for the admission of the candidates where the topers are provided with scholarships for their course.
Course Outlook:
M.A in Comparative Literature is a 2 year course, which includes one yearly exam, i.e. a total of two exams in the span of the course. After the completion of the first year of this course, again the students need to register their name for the final year.
Job Prospects:
The candidates after completion of the course can work in news channel as an editor or writers. They can even work as professors or lecturers in Universities and colleges.
