Annamalai University
The reputation of the Annamalai University does not need any description. Established in 1979, the Directorate of Distance Education of Annamalai University has the highest number of enrollment in India. In the session of 2008-2009, a new correspondence course of BEd was added to the list of 400 other programs offered by the University through distance education medium. All the courses offered here are approved by the Distance Education Council and the BEd course has been approved by the National Council for Teacher Education, Delhi. The Annamalai University also has study centers overseas in Oman, Dubai, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. Madurai Kamaraj University Established in 1966, the MK University works through 18 schools and is located in Tamil Nadu. Its Directorate of Distance Education is quite popular for the variety of courses offered through the distance education mode. Every year more than one lakh students enroll themselves for various correspondence courses at this University. The study centers for the BEd correspondence courses are located in over 100 locations in India and in 17 locations overseas. The degree is recognised by the UGC and the Distance Education Council. The BEd offered here is a two-year long program. Bangalore University A public university, it was started in 1886 and ranks amongst the oldest universities of India. It has a department dedicated to provide distance learning programs to thousands of students in and around the state of Karnataka. It also offers BEd correspondence course for which the duration is 2 years. A student has to be at least a graduate in any discipline and should have been working as a teacher for at least 3 years to get a seat in this course at the Bangalore University. Andhra University Established in 1925, the Andhra University started its School of Distance Education in 1972. Since the inception, the school has been ranked amongst the best distance education institutes owing to the quality of education provided to the students. The BEd correspondence course offered here is a one year program. People who have been working as bona-fide teachers for over 2 years can apply for this program and complete their degree of BEd through distance learning mode. Kakatiya University The School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education of Kakatiya University offers a number of programs (over 60) through distance mode and the Bachelor of Education is one of them. The University is known for its highly talented faculty, who believe in continuous research and development. |
