The French Revolution was a period of radical social and political upheavel. this took place in 1789 with the convocation of the ESTATES GENERAL. there are many causes of the french revolution...

1)economic factors included hunger and shortage of food adn malnutrition.
2)Another cause was the state's effective bankruptcy due to the enormous cost of previous wars, particularly the financial strain caused by French participation in the American Revolutionary War.
3)The other factors involved resentments and aspirations which took place due the enlightment of the powerful ideals. Resentments were ..like resentment of royal absolutism,resentment by peasants,resentment of the church influence over the general people...
