My son is getting 164 marks in AIEEE. What would be his expected rank and will he stand any chance to get any seat in any of the NITs (including the 10 new NITs that may be coming up during this academic year). Also I am not able to get any site which will give the opening and closing ranks of different NITs for the year 2009. I am getting only 2008 data. Thanks. Pls advice.

if your son is expecting a score of 164 in this year aieee then his rank may lie between....
30000-40000.....he may even get a rank below 30000....

there are only 10000 seats in all nits and few more 1000 seats in other colleges which take students be aieee exam.....

there is a little chance of getting into nit with this score ....but you will definitely get a good college other than nit through aieee.......

Thank you for your very prompt reply. Can you suggest me a few good colleges where I can try for admission for my son. Sorry to bother you but I am not very knowledgeable about the good colleges of AIEEEs other than NITs. Please reply

You can expect a rank between 37001-44000 all India

and i dont think you can get into top 10 NITs but it may be possible to get into some NIT . Just keep your fingers crossed and wait for the results

Hi friend..........

Your son score 164 marks which mean his rank is under 45000. Its a little bit possible chances to get admission in any nits. But you dont loose hope.

You have scored really well in AIEEE this year.Which NIT you can expect depends upon councelling.But I am sure your AIR will be within 10,000.

Your AIR will be within 55,000 and getting into NIT will not be possible with this.But dont worry you will get Good institute other then NIT's and IIIT's like- ICFAI University, B.S.Abdurrahman etc..And which can be decided in councelling.

If so then your AIR will be within 50,000.So, you can expect some good institutes like- Thapar University, ICFAI University, B.S.Abdurrahman etc.

with this score you might not get an nit......
but if you belong a state where there is an nit then you might get a seat through state quota.........try for it........

if not there then you will get into the best state level college of your state through your score in aieee,...............

If, so then your probable rank will be within 40,000 AIR.

And since you belongs to OBC category, other then NIT's you can get into private institutes like- ICFAI University, Thapar University, Amrita University etc.

Besides these you can also find seat in good college of your state, thats because it has been noted that always state rank is always remains better then AIR.

The seats for OBC has increased from last years seat in all the govt institution. So there are more chances of getting good college. That depends on your category rank only because you won't be able to get a college on the basis of Gen AIR.

to get into nits, you need to score at least above 200 marks in aieee.
however you can apply to other colleges which intakes students from the aieee ranking.
you can get the list of the colleges in the brouchure of aieee exam form or can also visit the official website www.aieee.nic.in

last year general category get closed at 235 marks....for niit's......
so you can adjust your points now accordingly....

hey friwnd every year the cut off for the admission change..........you will be allotted college according to your All India Rank which you have scored.............still if you have score more than 200 then you will get admission in NIT's.......

No, probably Not,You wont get admission into NIT's but can expect some other good private Engineering Institute.

This year AIEEE was of 432 marks, so for getting into NIT's at least 10,000 AIR will be required so you need you score at least 220 for that, thats why you cant expect NIT's.

If your state rank will be better then you can expect best colleges of your state.

But in case you think you could have done better in AIEEE then think about dropping a year. Try not to repeat the mistakes which you committed before and with your present score i think next year if you work hard then you definitely have a chance to get into top 10,000

I dont think that with this marks you can get top colleges but try for another good colleges like......

You should not think of admission in any nit. U can get admission only through state ranking

If some SC/ST camdidate is getting at least 201 in AIEEE 2010 then there is a little chance for them to get NIT's. This year AIEEE is of 432 marks and we can expect at least 220 as the cutoff for general candidates. So, from this point of view as a SC/ST candidate you can expect NIT's. Otherwise I dont not.

Lets see what happens in councelling.

sir i wanna 2 tell u that ur son get gud marks in aieee but there should be A restriction tht if u hv belong frm SC OR ST THEN it can get NIT & last year cut off is approx. 170 to above........but ur son can get gud private college..

to offer with around 60 seats in each branch.....

friend the cut off for AIEEE varies every year........it totally depend upon the marks scored by the all student who appeared for the exam.........

Yeah i guess you can get admission in NITs since for SC the cutoffs is really low. Less than 100 i guess.

So wait for counselling and hope for the best. But you are sure of getting admission in NITs if not the top ones

cut off marks was near about 273

Sorry dear, you cant expect Government Institute with only 155 in AIEEE this year, because AIEEE 2010 is of 432 marks so scoring 155 is not enough for getting any Good government Institute.

However, you can expect any Government college of your state which accept AIEEE score as a domicile candidate. But if you dont want to remain in the same state then its quite impossible.

Offcourse you can get into NIT as your expected all india rank is 8000-10000
