Is MCA equivalent to B.E/B.Tech in computer science


Please let me know whether MCA is equivalent of BE/B.Tech in computer science?

Yes thats true that MCA-Master of Computer Application is often considered as equivalent to B.TECH.

The point here to note is that B.tech is a bachelor Degree where as MCA is Master degree yet B.tech degree holds greater prominance in comparison.
Basically, B.TECH=BCA+MCA
One can do MCA after completing B.tech it is ok to apply for MCA after completing bachelor of technology but on the other hand after completing BCA one can not apply for M.tech,here the bachelor degree of technology have more importance than bachelor degree of computer application,one need to do B.tech after BCA and then M.TEch is applicable.
That automatically speaks for higher prominance for the degree of Technology as compare to degree of computer application
