as for as company concern BOTH are equal. No matter.but u couldn't go depthly in MSC(IT) AS IN MCA .the syllabus of MCA is so vast.i think MCA would be better.if u study MCA or MSC that is not the matter company see your softskills first.

Hi Pradeep,
MCA and MSc computer science are quite similar as both are computer oriented courses. These two courses are different if you look at their syllabus. I would advice you to do MCA because MCA have much more scope and every company are after MCA. thank you. |

hi member'
MSc and MCA are diffrent oriented courses and MCA is having great future scope. An IT company will always prefer MCA student over Msc computer science. MCA is based on both theorytical as well as practical concepts. I would suggest you to opt for MCA Good Luck |

Hi,
The truth is that nowadays MCA is better than MSc , because IT companies are giving more chances and packages to MCA and BTech students rather than MSc students. |

From IT Industry Standpoint , it is ok if you have 4 years (B.E.) / 5 years (Bachelors 2 years Masters) / 6 years (Bachelors 3 years Masters) degree.
So they are looked on the same scale nowadays -- What matters most to IT Companies is acceptable Academic Degree with "Right Attitude" to get things done. MCA is typically meant for non computer science background students (say. B.Sc. Physics, Stats etc.) who want to venture into "Computing" world -- That is why it takes 3 years to complete MSc CS on the other hand is meant for computer science background students with 2 years to complete. But yes , some CS background students do go for MCA if they have not learnt the basics properly :-) Also it all depends on University Syllabus , your line of interest and how well you can grasp & advance your understanding on "Computing Systems" be it through MSc or MCA . |

If U Want to Get Placed in an IT industry ts Better to Do MCA.
If U Want to be a Professor or a Lecturer Both M.Sc Cs and MCA are Good, But After Completing M.Sc CS U Want to Proceed With M.Phil That Only Gives a Good Scope. But Where as in MCA No Need for M.Phil, If U Need U Can. All the Very Best. |

In brief:
MCA vs MSc IT %u2022 MCA and MSc IT are different post graduate courses in the field of computers and their applications in the industry. %u2022 While MCA is a specialized course, MSc IT is broader in scope as students learn all about computers with an emphasis on using information for the benefit of businesses. %u2022 MCA is restricted in the sense to the knowledge of the systems and their practical applications. |

I think the answer is no.
MCA and Msc Both are Master degrees But MCA is totally based on Programing of Computer languages whereas MSc Computer Science have not all based on Programming ..Means it consists of Networking Hardware and then Programming so i don't think it is equal to MCA course. |

MCA is equivalent to ME.
MCA with Bsc (Computer Science) background is equivalent to ME (Computer Science and Engineering). Bsc Computer Science (3 Yrs) MCA (3 Yrs) = 6 Yrs. BE Computer Science (4 Yrs) ME (2Yrs) = 6 Yrs. MCA and ME both are equal. Companies are giving equal priority to both MCA and ME. |

dear friend,
Both the two stream M.Sc (Computer Science) and MCA are good in their field. 1) If you want to go for mainly teaching line then M.Sc should be your first preference. 2) But if you want to go mainly for company job then choose MCA. So, You have to choose between them according to your future planning. |
