btech is graduation and msc is post graduation so both are not equal,
and hence you are not eligible for the csir net exam because only post graduate students are eligible for it |

No dear B.tech and M.sc are not equivalent to each.
If some one is allowed to persue P.hd directly.that does'nt mean that he/she has B.tech equivalent to M.sc,it is just a Special case which is allowed to some Meritorious or students with good academic records or from weak financila background. Let me Explain briefly. B.tech/B.E. candidate does'nt required to write CSIR-UGC-NET. CSIR has a special criteria for that.B.tech/B.E. candidates can directly persue P.hd with JRF from CSIR. If he/she had appeared for GATE and must have valid and Very good GATE score. This is a special criteria which CSIR has for B.tech students.Which ia popular with the name GATE-JRF.The candidate will b given oppurtunity to persue P.hd directly from IIT's or IISC or NIT's or other institutes of national importance. The eligible candidates will recieve call letter which is known as "Award letter" from the Director of CSIR laboratories. Dear friend,
B.Tech and M.Sc are not equivalent degrees at all.. B.Tech is a graduation degree course on engineering streams.. Whereas M.Sc is the Master's course in the general line study.. CSIR-NET exam is only for the candidates from the general science background.. The candidates who have master's degree in science subjects can write this exam . The B.Tech students are not eligible for CSIR-NET exam. Best of luck! |

hi friend,
It is true that MSc is equivalent to BTech course but you have to read about the subject areas in which CSIR exam is conducted. For your information, CSIR-UGC NET Exam for Science stream is conducted by CSIR in the following areas: - 1. Chemical Sciences 2. Earth Sciences 3. Life Sciences 4. Mathematical Sciences 5. Physical Sciences Hence I dont think so that any engineer's stream matches these subjects. Hence in case of you. You are eligible to give UGC NET exam conducted also two times in a whole year. There you will find your favourite subject. |

dear friend,
No my friend B.tech course is not similar to M.Sc course.. B.tech is a graduation course and M.Sc course is a post graduation course. To apply for CSIR NET exam you have to complete the post graduation course in any trade. After completion of post graduation course with 50% aggregate you can apply for NET exam... All the best. |
