Re: MCA vs. MCM Course?
this course was designed for making a student much benefited having a skills of both management and computer applications.....but this course have not got success here...i have not found that any of the candidate having mcm and he is in good organization either in mnc's or in institutions so what my point is do the course where u can see much success after successful completion of the course. & regarding your eligibility i am giving you an extract from the guidelines by IGNOU hope you will be satisfied by that..
Graduate in any discipline would be considered eligible to apply for MCA at IGNOU. However, those who did not study Maths as a separate subject have to register for MTE-03 paper in the first semester. Moreover, students who have not studied Maths as a core subject in their intermediate level are required to pass the CS-60 paper, which is offered in MCA. and option is urs All the Best. |

Re: MCA vs. MCM Course?
dear friend......
If you see in the market the most of the companies advertise for the candidate with MCA qualification as they prefer to take MCA person rather than MCM. So as per the survey MCA is always preferable compare to MCM.......... |

Re: MCA vs. MCM Course?
Guys, there are significant differences between MCM and MCA. The former is a two year course, coupled with computer and management studies. This course is equivalent to MBA-Systems/IT and not fall under AICTE. Almost all major MNCs recruit MCMs, Accenture, Cognizant, IBM, Patni, Capgemini etc. But, to secure a job you have to clear the minimum criterias as specified by the industries. Such as, through out 60% from class Xth on wards or 55% in MCM etc. Most companies will conduact an Aptitude test, you have to clear that with at least > 80% to get short listed. Organizations will not mention the cut off percentage. Your career spans accross your karma, put your effort, secure first class marks and remain competitive. Pune University is a good one, but it is extremely hard to score > 60% in MCM. If you are doing the course, take it seriously. Don't get frustated through out your study and never look for statistics of placement. Self confidence is the most sought after quality to enter into a job.
MCA is three year course, approved by AICTE. As you know, there are huge crowd of MCAs, but not all are getting placed. In my opinion, just do not run after MNCs, seek opportunities in Government jobs, Defence, Education and Industries other than IT. You will be more secured in the long run. Selection criteria for top MNCs are more or less same. So if you do not have 60% throughout then it's a vague expectation to join Infosys, IBM, TCS, CTS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra etc. Few exceptions are there who consider 50 to 55% marks, like Accenture. I hope, my answer provided you enough input to make a decision. Thanks and Regards, Software Engineer |

Re: MCA vs. MCM Course?
Hi,
If ur not having maths in ur 10+2 then u just have only one option i.e to have a degree of BCA at ur graduation level. As far as scope is concerned between MCA and MCM. MCA is far better as its equivalent to the degree of b.tech C.S/IT. And MCA is having vast scope in today's date. thank you |

hey....... MCM is not approved by AICTE but MCA is........ so if u want to be lecturer in future go only for MCA and not MCM.......... But if u want to go in s/w development field then u can go for any one of them........... MCM students can't give SET exam so many problems with MCM.........

Re: MCA vs. MCM Course?
MCM degree is run by 2 bodies : 1. Pune University 2. Ganpat University.
In Pune University, it is running since last 22 years, where as with Ganpat University (Ahmedabad) it started in yr 2010. I would suggest to opt for MCM. ITs a better choice. |
