Mechanical student eligible to software feild or not?

Software engineering students are mostly equipped with a good knowledge of programming skill and programming languages.

Programming languages are High Level Languages understood by compilers in the computers. Lots of companies can provide Software Development jobs to Mechanical Engineers if they have substantial knowledge of computer programming languages and other concepts.

Some of the languages are C, C++, Java, C#, Python, Ruby, etc. You must have knowledge of other concepts like object oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, which are the most basic concepts of programming.
