Re: Is MSc Bioinformatics a good option?
yes my dear friend,
M.Sc Bioinformatics will definately be a good option for you and you are the fully eligible person to make full use of this course and can gain maximum out of it. Bio-informatics involve fully the concepts of biotechnology, biochemistry and biology on the system with large databases. So these are the concepts and operations which can be understood and be performed by only biology background student and no other technical student as he dont know anything about biologically oriented terms. And today the demand for this course is very high and it is going on increasing. Here there is less competition for you. So if you perform well during the course you will have a bright future. When compared to other Msc courses, the course for this will be a little bit high. If you cannot afford and if you dont have any option to afford money for this course, then try to join msc biotechnology which also will give you a good future. |

Re: Is MSc Bioinformatics a good option?
HELLO,you are eligible for m.sc. bioinformatics.currently bioinformatics is an burning issue in the medical society,in bioinformatics one have to collect the database information about enzymes, protein & stored that information for it's further use.being this is the branch related to the research work there is high requirements of experts in this field.in india research field is well developed in silicon velly(Benglore).& now progressing in north such as in shimla, delhi.but if we talk about foreign there is remarkable requirements of bioinformatics experts.so sure your future with bioinformatics.

Re: Is MSc Bioinformatics a good option?
hello friends... The career prospects in the field has been steadily increasing with more and more use of information technology in the field of molecular biology. Job prospects are in all sectors of biotechnology, pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences, in research institutions, hospital and industry. Some of the specific career areas that fall within the scope of bioinformatics include Sequence assembly, Database design and maintenance, Sequence analysis, Proteomics (the study of protein, particularly their structures and functions), Pharmacogenomics, Pharma-cology, Clinical armacologist , Informatics developer, Computational chemist, Bio-analytics and Analytics etc. all the best regards venki |

Re: Is MSc Bioinformatics a good option?
I think it is getting late to enter into the area of bioinformatics at this point. There were many openings before. But lately, this area is getting stagnated in terms of career prospects both in India and in the US. I see Indian students struggling to find bioinformatics jobs here in the US. Eventually the field of bioinformatics will just merge into the life sciences or computational areas and cease to exist as a specialization in itself.
