check the syllabus of he both once.In the comparision you can find all subjects similar with mere difference of 5 or 6 subjects...
equal placemnts depends on the college you study....If the college is in the top list companies prefer msc IT & computers equally.if your college is just average or blow average then msc IT will not be given equal opportunities to that of msc computers |

Re: MSc IT or MSc Computer Science? Are they equivalent in terms of jobs and scope?
Dear friend,
Both of these courses are somehow equivalent in case of jobs and scope. Job chances in renowned Software companies are equally good for M.Sc(IT) and M.Sc(CS). So performing well in the exams and average good marks play enough big role to avail a satisfactory job in the software market. Scopes are ample in both of the courses if you look deeply in the placement scenarios of the companies. So don't think too much for jobs you just complete the course you want with good score. Jobs will be automatically come for you. Good luck!! |

Re: MSc IT or MSc Computer Science? Are they equivalent in terms of jobs and scope?
Hi dear,
MSc in Computer Science covers various areas which can be applied to various areas like technology, science, business and education. A person who has done MSC computer science will have opportunities in software development, testing and networking. Companies such as Oracle, HP, Wipro, IBM, Compaq etc. are hiring people with MSC computer science qualification. A person who is very much interested in teaching computer science or doing research in the field of computer should definitely go for MSC computer science MCA course is suitable for those who wish to have a career in Software. An MCA degree holder will have great job opportunities in top level IT companies and consultancy firms. A person with MCA can become Software Programmer, Software Engineer, Software Developer, Systems Analyst, Software Application Architect, and Software Consultant Many MNC’s prefer MCA candidates to MSC candidates. MCA’s are well aware of the applications. But to develop a new one, a person with MSC computer science is required. Thus, for working purpose an MCA is preferred but for Research purpose always M.Sc.Computer Science will be preferred. Thanks |

Whether BSc CS is qualified to do MSIT and which are the universities offering MSIT course. Also is there any difference between MSIT and MSc IT? A genuine advise will be highly appreciated.
