Re: Is PCM subject combination required to study Software Engineering courses?
To become a software engineer, you are certainly required to opt for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as your main subject for your higher secondary school degree i.e; Class 12th.
Further, after completion of your Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects, you are required to pursue degree in engineering i.e; B.E./B.Tech in computer science or Information technology discipline to become a software engineer. |

Yes, PCM subject combination is required to study software engineering course.
After completion of 12th class then you can apply for joint entrance examination. The admission of candidate in software engineering will be done on the basis of entrance examination. Now you can apply four year Bachelor of Technology in software engineering course. |

Re: Is PCM subject combination required to study Software Engineering courses?
Yes, definitely. Without PCM subject you won't get admission to engineering courses.
For pursuing B.Tech/B.E. in Software Engineering, you should have studied PCM subjects in 11th and 12th standard. Without PCM subjects, you will not be able to apply for engineering entrance exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, etc. Also, if you are trying for direct admission, then college authorities will not permit admission to Software Engineering course without PCM subjects. Just because, it is beyond regulations set by Education ministry. So, you must opt PCM subject in 11th and 12th if you are planning to do Software Engineering course. |

Re: Is PCM subject combination required to study Software Engineering courses?
Yes But, it is not a necessary criteria. The Indian system is- You need to take up science i.e PCM to become an engineer. With these 3 subjects you can take up any combination of other subjects according to what you like and what your school offers
