Here is the exam pattern for CBI-
-paper 1st(general test) duration 2hr.
*general intelligence and reasoning-50 marks
*general awareness-75
*numerical ability-75
Total=200 marks

-paper 2nd (english language)duration2 hr.
*language comprehension, communication/writing=200 marks

ability test (physical)
after qualifying this exam you will have CBI agent post and with time period you will be promoted to officer rank as per your performance.for more information you can visit the official site of CBI-www.cbi.gov.in

You need to apply and get selected by staff selection board for staff ranks or get selected for IPS and go to CBI on deputation.

CBI is a service which is integrated Civil service

the exam conducted for Intake into CBI are

commonly UPSC Civils

SSC(Staff Selection Committee)

Some special exams for Special posts

and the basic information about this exam is

SSC is also not a simple exam it also consists of 4 stages

you have to clear all of them

Then only you will get placed in CBI department

Some times the candidates with LAW background also get a chance to enter in to cbi

this is the stuff I'm aware of ..

I will update my knowledge accordingly in the same post

To become a CBI(Central Bureau of Investigation) officer:

To join as CBI officer you need to appear for Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam conducted by SSC(Staff Selection Committee)

* Candidates should have a graduation from a recognized university.
* The age limit must be within 21 to 27 for general category.
* The age limit must be up to 35 years for SC/ST candidates.
* The age limit must be up to 33 years for OBC candidates.

Attempts:

For General category - 4 attempts.
For SC/ST category - No limit
For OBC category - 7 attempts

the need of intelligence services is required to tackle with corruption, terrorism and other anti social elements. Cbi has two departments named anti corruption and special crimes.


Here is some information for those who want to choose intelligence services as their career option.

Examination pattern:-

-direct recruitment to cbi is done through examinations conducted by the staff selection commission. It is done for three different posts:- sub-inspector, assistant public prosecutor and senior public prosecutor (spp).

- the candidate should clear his written test, interview and medical.


Eligibility:-

- for assistant pp, ll.b.(law) with 5 of years experience is the minimum qualification.

-for deputy sp, graduation and for senior public prosecutor, being a law graduate with 10 years of experience is the minimum qualification.

. For the post of sub inspector the criteria is as follows:- between 18-25 years of age, graduate, height to be minimum 5’6″ and chest 32′ (+2″). The candidate should clear his written test, interview and medical.

• for the training, cbi officers who are directly recruited go to police academy in ghaziabad and ips officers training centre is at hyderabad.
