CID refers to Crime Investigation Department, the one which you may have seen on televisions in shows like "CID" etc. CID or Crime Branch, as it is referred in some parts of the country, is a special wing of police force. Mostly all states in India like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Orissa etc have CID of their own. Major cities like Delhi, Mumbai also have a Crime Investigation Department.

The job of CID is different from ordinary police force. It is usually given cases which requires high level of technical expertise. Complicated cases and even terror cases are sometimes given to the CID to crack.

The exam to become CID officer in India is UPSC Indian Civil Service Exam. This examination has three levels:

1. IPS Cadre

2. State Public Service Commission

3. District Police Headquarters

In order to appear in the UPSC Civil Service Examination, candidates are required to meet certain eligibility criteria.

Nationality:

Candidate should be Indian National.

Age:

The age limit for General category cadidates is 21 to 25 years.

For SC/ST and OBC candidates, it is 21to 30 years.

Education Criteria:

All aspirants should have graduation degree in any course from recognized university in India.

You should score at least 60 percent marks in graduation degree.

If you are applying for post of constable in the CID, the required qualification is 10+2.

To be a CID constable you require only tenth standard qualification....Qualification will depend on the level you want to join. For constables it is 10 plus2,for SI it is graduation and also for officer it is graduation. For SI/officer level you have to qualify competitive examination. In case you qualify civil services examination and get entry in IPS you can get posting in CID.
In the appropriate field under the Central Government.AMAeSI is recognized by the Govt. of India as equivalent to BE degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Candidates with AMAeSI qualification are eligible to apply for any job in Aeronautics where BE is prescribed as the minimum eligibility qualification for the post. They are also eligible to pursue Post Graduate Courses. As there is great dearth of qualified aircraft
