Postal Assistant Exam Details:-

There are about 22 postal circles in our country which are further divided into divisions and the postal department is one of the largest where over 5 lac people are employed. Its branches are widespread in both rural and urban areas.

• Army Postal Service
• Circle office & Regional Office
• Foreign post offices
• Mail Motor Services
• Post Offices
• Postal Stores Depots
• Railway Mail Service
• Saving Bank Control Organization

Eligibility Criteria:-

Educational Qualification:-

• To sit for the postal assistant exam you must possess 10+2 or 12th class certificate from the recognized board in India.
  
• You need to secure not less than 60% of marks at 10+2 level.
  
• You should have English as a compulsory subject at 10+2 level.
  
• You should know how to read and write in the language of the State where you are applying.

Age Criteria:-

Your age should not be less than 18 years when applying for this exam. Your age should not exceed the upper age limit of 27 years either.

Computer & Typing Skills:-

To apply for this post you need to have basic knowledge of how to handle a computer. Your typing speed in Hindi should be 25 words and 30 words in English per minute.

Selection Procedure:-

• Marks obtained in12th class- 40% weightage
• Marks obtained in aptitude test- 50% weightage
• Computer test & typing skills- 10 marks

Aptitude Test Pattern:-

Give importance to the following sections:-

• General Knowledge
• Mathematics
• English
• Reasoning and Analytical Ability

Typing Test: For the computer typing test in 30 mins you have to type an English paragraph in 450 words and a Hindi paragraph of 375 words. Minimum typing speed should be 30/25 words.
