I secured 87.4 % in 10th. I want to be computer engineer. so I want to know should I go for diploma or 11th science.. how many seats are there for diploma to degree? For Nirma university can diploma holder apply for B.E. without passing 12th??

diploma holders can apply in B.E courses.
Yes in nirma university diploma holder can apply in nirma university without 12th but you need a very good percentage of marks as you have scored good in your 10th std

can i do diploma after 11th

One can do diploma after 10th standard.
To enter B.E, one has to complete 3 years of diploma course and then join 2nd year B.E after qualifying in an entrance exam for B.E. For this one need NOT do +2.

Another way s by taking up science in +2 and then taking up B.E after qualifying in the entrance exam.

There is no difference. Both are treated in similar way. However if you have done a degree after diploma, chances of selection in interviews are higher as you might be stronger in key subjects and topics

Hello,
Since you have secured an excellent percentage in 10th, I would suggest you to go for diploma. After completing your diploma, you do not to study 12th. You must secure you 60% in diploma to be eligible to take admission in B.E through lateral entry. So definitely you can complete your B.E.

AHMEDABAD: An estimated 7,000 engineering seats, reserved for diploma engineering students to pursue engineering degree courses, are likely to remain vacant. The process of granting final admissions will be undertaken soon in the first week of August.

Officials of the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) said that there are engineering degree 14,329 seats to which students with engineering diplomas can be admitted directly in the third semester. Only 17,000 students filled forms for these.

Department wise seats

Electronics and Communication (EC) engineering is the worst hit with nearly 1,000 odd seats likely to remain vacant in colleges. There are 3,446 seats for which only 2,400 students have applied.

In Information and Technology (IT), there are 1,484 seats with only 958 students applying for admission. Resultantly, 500 seats are likely to go vacant.

Environment engineering too has few takers with only 23 students applying for admissions as against 105 seats.

Civil engineering has 1,780 seats for which only 1,506 students have applied leaving as many as 274 seats vacant.

Mechanical engineering is emerging as a rare hot favorite among the students. It is the only branch where the number of students who have applied for admission exceeds the number of seats.

Yes, the diploma holder apply for B.E. without passing 12th through lateral entry in 2nd year of B.Tech. engineering by appearing through entrance examination conducted by various Institutions.

Whether you go for diploma or 11th science after securing 87.4% in 10th, is absolutely depend upon you.

You may join Diploma after 10th which is of three years duration and after which you can do B.Tech. through lateral entry to the 2nd year of B.Tech.

But as you have scored good in 10th, you should complete 12th with PCM first and then apply for B.Tech. by appearing through good entrance exam like IIT JEE, AIEEE, BITS etc. After 12th there is better scope for you then after completion of Diploma.

Yes diploma holders can apply for engineering without passing 12th, even they get direct admission in the second year of Btech degree after diploma.
As you have scored good marks in 10th and you final aim is to become computer engineer so think you should go for diploma.

You can take any of the two options. If you take 11th Science then after completing 12th you will have to appear for Engineering entrance exams. From next year government is going to scrap the AIEEE and IIT-JEE entrance exams. Instead of them there would be a new common entrance exam for engineering called ISEET.


Your admission would be based on the performance in ISEET. The other option for you is take diploma course. Since you want to be computer engineer the best choice would be diploma in computer science engineering. Please do not go for the diploma in IT.


The duration of diploma course is 3 years. After completing the diploma course you can apply for engineering admission including in the Nirma University. However to do so you are not gonna have to appear for the ISEET entrance exam.


The process to give diploma students admission for the B.Tech course is called lateral entry scheme. You will get the admission via lateral entry even in Nirma University. Most colleges offer admission through lateral entry with the exception of few like the IITs.


The procedure of admission is quite simple. Some colleges would give admission on the merit. Here you would need at least 60 percent marks in diploma course. While other colleges either conduct their own entrance exam or on the basis of LEET entrance exam.


As far the seats as concerned. It is difficult to tell the exact number of seats for the lateral entry. However what can be said is that almost all engineering colleges in India reserve some seats for the lateral entry. The figure is 10 to 20 percent of total seats in the college. This is enough to get admission in a good engineeing college.

i would like to suggest you that diploma course better than 12th.
after completing diploma you are eligible to apply or appear for entrance exam B.E and B.Tech course.
after completing diploma you will get admission in 2nd year of B.E. OR B.TECH course and you have more knowledge as compare to other student.
after completing B.E. you can apply for junior engineer and assistance executive engineer.

Well....Obviously 11th Science will be much more preferable!!!
there are quite some obvious reasons behind it....lets discuss it thoroughly!!!!

You can opt for 10th Diploma just after passing 10yth exam....
on completion of your diploma course you can opt for jobs ,but you will only get the low paid jobs in different sectors
for better career prospects you need to do graduation!!!!so it will be quite a long process for your studies ....moreover with lesser proepspects !!!

But you you make your choice for the 1th science field, you can go for so many good streams and sectors!!!
on completion of 12th board exam you can sit for several entrance exams.basically there are 3 types of Major exams

Medical
Computer Related
