Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) generally recruits technician/ engineers through a centralized notification for 19 Railway Recruitment Board.

>> Age Eligibility (as on 01/07/2012): Min 18 yrs, Max: 30 yrs. Age relaxations exist as per Government rule.

>> Academic Qualification Eligibility: Matriculation and ITI Course Completed Act Apprenticeship approved by NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade. Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of course completed Act Apprenticeship/ITI.

>> Exam Format: RRB Technician exam 2012 would comprise of 100 questions to be answered in 90 minutes from following test sections - General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and reasoning and Technical Ability. There is negative marking, 1/3 of the marks for each wrong answer.

>> Syllabus: There isn’t any fixed syllabus for RRBs.

RRB Junior Engineer:
>> Total no. of vacant seats: 4304
>> Salary: Selected candidates will get salary under pay band Rs. 9300 – 34800/- plus GP 4600/-
>> Age Limit: For Sr. Section Engineers positions age limit is 18 years to 33 years
>> Educational qualification: Diploma in relevant stream

RRB Section Engineers:
>> Total no. of vacant seats: 1084
>> Salary: Selected candidates will get salary under pay band Rs. 9300 – 34800/- plus GP 4600/-
>> Age Limit: For Sr. Section Engineers positions age limit is 20 years to 35 years
