I have ranked 5226(General) in Engineering in WBJEE. Iam having a sports certificate for playing district level school football. Will I get any advantage for that during counselling and how?

there is no advantage of sports quota during counseling but after taking admission, your college can provide you some advantage like relaxation in fees etc.

i think thre isnt any sports quota in wbjee

most of wbjee colleges does not have any sport quota like Bengal Engineering Science
University,Shibpur but there are some colleges like jadavpur university which has such one but still it depends upon the colleges and varies among them .

so, you won't be able to find some advantages of your sportsmanship in counselling session for seeking admission in some of the colleges but surely you can get some scholarships on that basis thereafter .

Yes there is sports quota in WBJEE. The procedure is however not given. Maybe they will provide during counseling.But mostly there are some 2% seats

Yeah WBJEE has 2% seat reserved under Sports Quota.

But it is applicable only for Government Institute. Students under sports quota mainly find admission in Jadavpur University and BESU.

Dont worry you will be properly entertained at the time of Councelling, which will be held roughly on 3 july which is 1st round councelling and you are eligible for 1st round, dont wait for 2nd councelling just appear for 1st on time.

But I dont think you will be provided seat in JU or BESU, other then that Jalpaiguri Government Engineering and few more are there where you would be entertained.

Out of 5 universities.giving affilation to engg. colleges. There is not at any basic sports quota.But iime-diamond harbour may have some statuary requirement as sports candidates.

Dear the counselling schedule is not yet suggest but in previous year their is 2% of sports quota may be this year changed.

There is no such sport quota in WBJEE counselling.

dear friend, as per my knowledge & previous year counseling, there are no such provision for sports quotas in WBJEE counseling.

Very few of the institutions have these quotas.

You must be getting very good colleges even if the certificate does not work.

there is no such reservation like sports quota in WBJEE.they can only help you at the time of campussing.your ranking in WBJEE can get you into a good college.
