NTPC Syllabus & Pattern ..... ---->

NTPC i.e National Thermal Power Corporation Limited conducts Exam Every year.

Test pattern:-
It consists of 2 papers i.e Technical and Aptitude .

In Technical there will be 120 questions and 50 questions in Aptitude.

Exam Duration:- 2 Hrs.

Negative Marking ?? Yes it do have i.e 1/4 of marks will be deducted if you wrongly answer each Questions.

NTPC stand for National Thermal Power Corporation Limited and it conducts Exam Every year.

It consists of 2 papers i.e Technical and Aptitude .

technical is different for different branch or stream whereas aptitude is same for all

hi friend
the question pattern of NTPC is not so difficult like gate.i give the question pattern of NTPC wnich is given below.


In the written test, there will be 2 papers -
1. Aptitude test : There will be 35 questions in this paper. The questions will be objective type. They will be of type- synonyms, antonyms, word analogies, aptitude problem solving skills, comprehension passages, fill in the sentence with most suitable word.
2. Technical Test : This will be on the basis of stream you opt for from one of the following : Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Control & Instrumentation, Human Resources & Finance. There will be 55 questions in this test.
The total time allotted will be 2 hrs i.e 120 mins. And there will be 90 questions in total.
All the questions will be of objective type i.e. for each question 4 answers will be given & you have to choose the correct one & mark it.
There will also be negative marking for the incorrect answer. For each incorrect answer 1/4 marks will be deducted.

Signals and Systems:
Representation of continuous and discrete-time signals; shifting and scaling operations; linear, time-invariant and causal systems; Fourier series representation of continuous periodic signals; sampling theorem; Fourier, Laplace and Z transforms.
Electrical Machines:

Mechanics:
Bending moment and shear force in statically determinate beams. Simple stress and strain relationship: Stress and strain in two dimensions, principal stresses, stress transformation, Mohr's circle. Simple bending theory, flexural and shear stresses, unsymmetrical bending, shear centre. Thin walled pressure vessels, uniform torsion, buckling of column, combined and direct bending stresses.
Structural Analysis:
Analysis of statically determinate trusses, arches, beams, cables and frames, displacements in statically determinate structures and analysis of statically indeterminate structures by force/ energy methods, analysis by displacement methods (slope deflection and moment distribution methods), influence lines for determinate and indeterminate structures. Basic concepts of matrix methods of structural analysis.
Concrete Structures:
Concrete Technology- properties of concrete, basics of mix design. Concrete design- basic working stress and limit state design concepts, analysis of ultimate load capacity and design of members subjected to flexure, shear, compression and torsion by limit state methods. Basic elements of prestressed concrete, analysis of beam sections at transfer and service loads.
Steel Structures:

Irrigation:
Duty, delta, estimation of evapo-transpiration. Crop water requirements. Design of: lined and unlined canals, waterways, head works, gravity dams and spillways. Design of weirs on permeable foundation. Types of irrigation system, irrigation methods. Water logging and drainage, sodic soils.
Water requirements:
Quality standards, basic unit processes and operations for water treatment. Measurement of displacement, velocity and acceleration (translational and rotational), force, vibration and shock. Measurement of pressure, flow, temperature and liquid level. Measurement of pH, conductivity, humidity, hydrazine, silica, dissolved O2. Units and standards of measurement.
Analog Electronics:
Characteristics of diode, BJT, JFET and MOSFET. Diode circuits. Transistors at low and high frequencies, Amplifiers, single and multi-stage. Feedback amplifiers. NTPC ( National Thermal Power Corporation Limited) conducts Exam Every year.

Test pattern:-
It consists of 2 papers i.e Technical and Aptitude .

Technical there will be 55 questions and 35 questions in Aptitude.

Exam Duration:- 2 Hrs.

1/4 marks get deducted on every wrong answer

Technical Test

It Consists of Electrical , Control & Instrumentation, Hr and Other

Aptitude Test

It consists of Antonyms, Synonyms , Word Analogy etc..

Aptitude Test consists Of Following Sub Topics:

Interpretation of graphs and tables, Numerical ability,Quantitative aptitude,Vocabulary,Verbal comprehension, Reasoning ability to determine data sufficiency, etc.
