Its a common Entrance test for Flying Branch, Technical Branch, Ground Duty officer
You need to be 60% aggregate in all your Years in graduation.(More Details See the Notification)

Previous year Papers are not available on net so It is better to go with syllabus and recommended books.

Syllabus Consists of Reasoning, Verbal ability, General Awareness , Numerical ability & General Aptitude. Exam will be of 2 hrs Duration with Objective questions.

For preparations:- Books you should refer
R S Agarwal quantitative aptitude, For Gk. Go for manorama, Composition success Review magazine. General Awareness Go Books for IAS.

In order to join Indian Air force after Polytechnic you have to qualify the AFCAT exam.The syllabus for AFCAT exam are;

1. Reasoning
2. Numerical ability
3. Verbal ability (English)
4. General Awareness, GK
5. General Aptitude

the following topics:
General Awareness
Verbal Ability in English
Numerical Ability
Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test

The syllabus for the above subjects is given below:
(a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment,
Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.

(b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection,
Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.

(c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit
& loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.

(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial
Ability.

To join the Indian Air Force you need to appear for the AFCAT entrance exam. The Paper is totally multiple choice objective type paper and the duration is for 2hours.

The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of 3 marks each. For every correct answer the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is 2 hours.

IAF Examination Pattern -

Airforce exam pattern
The total paper consists of 200 objective type questions and are asked from four Subjects.They are

• General Awareness 40
• General English 40
• Quantitative Aptitude 40
• Reasoning Ability 40
• Marketing/Computing 40

and exam is of duration 150 Minutes ...

There will be an interview for candidates who clear written test and those who clear written test are appoint for job.
