where do i get syallubus,model papers for this exam....how should i apply

You can apply for IES exam, 2011 either online or offline. For applying through offline mode you should apply through a Common Application Form for the Examinations conducted by the Commission which is available at the designated post office / head office & for online application you should follow this link: http://www.upsconline.nic.in.

you didn't tell that from which subject you want to give paper,but don't worry on this site you will receive all information.

Date of notification of exam ies is 8/1/2011 and last date of submission of form is 7/2/2011,date of exam 14/5/2011.question paper is on the official site-

i am in mechanical engg.

you can download the syllabus from the UPSC official website.
you can go for IES after completing graduation.it require minimum graduation in engineering
from recognized university.
