P.hd exam is the exam for research course.
after this the doctorate degree, you will get.so for this the syllabus is according to your subject. the syllabus is almost the total data of your subject. And the other subjects which is for CS is; syllabus_phd_cs.pdf |

You have not mentioned for which subject you want the Syllabus of P.hd entrance exam and for which university.... please mention them so that we all can help you. Normally 2 types of test takes place: 1. Aptitude test -- here you should emphasize on language, numerical ability and logical reasoning. 2.subject specified test-- you have to emphasize on your subject from where both MCQ and descriptive questions come... Thats all I can help you...but please provide full queries. |

Department of Commerce & Business Studies, Jamia Milla Islamia Syllabus : Commerce & Business Studies. Ph.D. Entrance Test Note: The medium of Entrance Test shall be English. The Entrance Test shall based on two sets of question papers comprising of Sections A and B as specified below: Section A : The first set of question paper shall include 50 multiple choice ( objective type) questions of one mark each on teaching and research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension, language, writing and analytical skills, and contemporary issues relevant to research and higher education. It shall be of one hour duration. Section B : The question paper under Section – B shall be devoted to the advanced knowledge of the subject concerned and that of the specialization under the subject concerned. It shall have a weightage of 100 marks out of which 50 marks will be assigned to 50 multiple choice (objective type) questions of one mark each and a set of subjective types of questions having a weightage of another 50 marks. The question paper under Section B shall be of two hour duration. Section B (Commerce & Business Studies) Unit –I Business Environment Meaning and Elements of Business Environment Economic environment, Economic Policies, Economic Planning Legal environment of Business in India, Competition policy, Consumer protection, Environment protection. Policy Environment: Linearization, Privatisation and globalisation, Second generation reforms, Industrial policy and implementation, Industrial growth and structural changes. Unit –II Financial & Management Accounting Basic Accounting concepts, Capital and Revenue , Financial statements. Partnership Accounts: Admission, Retirement, Death, Dissolution and Cash Distribution. Advanced company accounts: Issue, forfeiture. Purchase of Business, Liquidation. Valuation of shares. Amalgamation Absorption and Reconstruction. Holding Company Accounts. Cost and Management Accounting: Ration Analysis, Funds Flow Analysis, Cash Flow Analysis, Managerial costing and Break-even analysis, Standard costing. Responsibility accounting. Unit- III Business Economics Nature and uses of Business Economics, Concept of Profit and Wealth maximization. Demand Analysis and Elasticity of Demand, Indifference curve analysis law. Utility Analysis and Laws of Returns and Law of variable proportions. Cost, Revenue, Price determination in different market situations: Perfect competition, Monopolistic competition, Monopoly, Price discrimination and Oligopoly, Pricing strategies. Unit- IV Business Statistics & Data Processing Data types, Data collection and analysis, sampling, need, errors and methods of sampling, Normal distribution. Hypothesis testing. Analysis and Interpretation of data. Correlation and Regression, small sample test- t test, F test and chi-square test. Data processing – Elements, data entry, data processing and computer applications. Computer application to functional areas- accounting, inventory control, marketing. Unit- V Business Management Principle of Management Planning-objective, strategies, planning process, decision-making Organising, organisational structure, formal and informal organisations, organisational culture Staffing Leading: Motivation, leadership, committees, communication. Controlling Corporate governance and business ethics Unit- VI Marketing Management The evolution of marketing, concepts of marketing, marketing mix, marketing environment Consumer behaviour, market segmentation Product decisions Pricing decisions Distribution decisions Promotion decisions Marketing planning, organising and control Unit- VII Financial Management Capital structure, financial and operating leverage Cost of capita, capital budgeting Working capital management Dividend policy Unit- VIII Human Resource Management Concepts, role and functions of Human Resource Management Human resource planning, recruitment and selection Training and development, succession planning Compensation: wage and salary administration, incentive and fringe benefits, Morale and productivity.
