The University of Hyderabad undertakes a Screening test for candidates who aspire to undertake admission in the Ph. D based program in the Mathematics discipline. The total marks for the paper is seventy five marks and the total duration of the paper is two hours. There are two different parts in the Question Paper namely, Part A and Part B. Part A have maximum marks of twenty-five and Part B has a maximum mark of fifty. Part A is a Multiple Choice Question based section.

There are twenty five questions in the Part A, each of the questions have four alternatives. In Part B, there are fifteen questions in total, out of which candidates have to attain at least ten questions. Each of the questions carries a maximum of five marks in the question. There are negative of one-fourth awarded to those questions which are wrong. Unanswered question are offered no marks. Each of the Questions in the Part A carries a maximum of one answer. Candidates are advised to follow different Mock based Question as well as suggestions prior to the entrance exam, as it will help to receive a feel for the exam.
