It depends on when the company visits the campus. Normally it is in the beginning of the 4th semester. So in that case the aggregate score up to the 4th semester will be considered. This is only if the results of the 3year are declared. So you need to maintain a good score throughout engineering.

Placements and Selection

Campus placements held in the final year,so companies ask the aggregate upto 6th Semester.

But suppose if you get selected,even then any further backlogs in 7th and 8th Semester are not allowed.

Unluckily,if you get backlogs further in final year after selection,you will be rejected from the company,then and there.

Placements usually starts in any college by the end of 7th semester, so the companies which are coming in for campus placements will ask till the 6th semester aggregate or 7th semester if you finished the exam and got the result..

POINTS TO NOTE :

-> At the time of placement the company will see till maximum of 7th semester for sure but one important thing to note is, if you are placed in the company by 7th semester then you have to pass with the same % which the company demands when it comes for placement for eg. if 60 % is the eligiblity criteria for placements and you have 60 % above till 7th sem, and if in case you failed in 8th sem or your aggregate falls down below 60 % then there will be a problem once you get into the company..

-> So prepare well through out all the semester and do well in your placements

At the time of placement which will be in the 7th semester end or 8th semester, you must have a aggregate of 60 % above for most of the top MNC companies..

-> Some top companies like Nokia Siemens Networks, Tata Elxsi etc. which are based on products demand 70 % above aggregate during the placements.

-> Companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Satyam etc. based on service ask for 60 % above aggregate during placements

At present am writing my 6th semester exams and my aggregate is 56% upto 5th semester ...so,can i eligible for any of the interviews ...if i am eligible kindly inform me the type of companies am applicable ...am from IT department and i don't have any backlogs till right now.

Hi

Campus interview mostly takes place at the time in between the last two

semesters. So the aggregate will be calculated up to last but one semester.

But some companies expect a nice marks from the last semester also.

u can apply for some companies lik syntel which wil take upto 55%

it depends on when you have placements. placements will start immediately after your 7th sem exams. so you can calculate your marks till 6th semester and provide your academic marks with that.
if 7th sem results are out then you can include that marks too in calculating your percentage

In most of the universities the company recruit the final year students.That means the students of 7th semester are eligible to the campus drive.Hence the perncentage upto 6th semester marks are taken into consideration.

At the time of placement you have needed the marksheet upto 5th semester.
and the aggregate then be calculated accordingly.

generally all the companies would come during the 7th or 8th semester,so they seek the aggregate up to the 6th semester.you will get easily selected if you are not having any arrears.

suppose a person have backlogs in 2nd and 3rd sem but at the end of 6th sem he don't have any backlogs nd his aggregate percentage is 60 so is he eligible for campus selection???

If one gets placement during S7, and get a backpaper in S8, while undergoing training in infosys, will his placement suffer?

sir,I am in 3rd B-tech now, I have 90% in SSC,92% in inter,65% in B-tech till now but i have a backlog in 2-2,can i have any chances of getting placements in final year in software company

My University gives the aggregate of only 5,6,7&8th semesters on the degree certificate. And I m having 63.39% on degree certificate but 1st to 8th is 58%. Will this affect my further rounds of TCS selection.

I am lateral entry student to engineering, i got less percentage in 3rd semester does it affect placement and present I am studying 4th semester

My University gives the aggregate of only 5,6,7&8th semesters on the degree certificate. And I m having 71.6% on degree certificate but 1st to 8th is 64.2%. Will this affect my further rounds of the selection.
