My son took admission in a ICSE Board's affiliated school in class 6th. During the admission as I was not having the Transfer Certificate so the required criteria as met by birth certificate. Now the school is asking for TC to do the registration of 9th. Is it necessary to submit the TC for registration or birth certificate will do the needful?

A transfer certificate will be required whenever you change schools. It doesn't matter if both schools are affiliated to the same education board. You have to get the TC from your previous school if you are taking admission to a different school.

In the same way, you need a transfer certificate and migration certificate if you are getting admission to different schools affiliated with a different education board.
