What is the 12th cut-off to be eligible to apply for NDA exam?

I have completed my 12th Board exams and scored 57%. Am I eligible to apply for NDA examination? What is the standard cut-off percentage for NDa?

NDA stands for National Defense Academy and to join the same one is required to qualify NDA examination held by UPSC twice every year.

The minimum education required to appear in the NDA examination is a Class 12th in any discipline from a recognized board. But, in case of candidates looking to join Indian Navy or Indian Air force wings of NDA, they must have studied Mathematics and Physics at their Class 12th level. Further, there is no provision of securing minimum specified marks in Class 12th to be eligible for appearing in the same examination.

For more detailed information regarding the same examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in.

You require minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, chemistry and Maths as a eligibility criteria in order to appear in the NDA exam. The standard cut off is going around 75% average marks intermediate.

Note that there is no such cutoff percentage for appearing in NDA exam.

Since, you have passed 12th standard with 57%, so you are eligible for NDA exam.

Through NDA, you can apply for anyone of the following wings. I have also mentioned the streams required for applying these wings.
  • Army (Commerce/Arts)
  • Air Force (Science/Commerce/Arts)
  • Navy (Science/Commerce/Arts)

There will be two stages for cracking NDA exam i.e.
  • Written Test
  • SSB Interview
In Written test, there will be two papers i.e. General Ability and Mathematics. You can qualify written test if you score above 60% marks in Mathematics and General Ability papers. However, it merely depends upon the cutoff scores that UPSC don't disclose.
