Hi, my son was born on 13th February, 2015 and is in LKG currently, but I came to know that CBSE has decided the age limit of 6 years for standard 1. So, shall I make him repeat LKG in next session? Please resolve my confusion.

There is no age limit criteria decided by the CBSE or any other recognised board.

The age criteria is decided by the Directorate of State Education to appear in the board examination and in different std.

Age Criteria for class 1 in CBSE school:-

The minimum age required for a candidate to get admission in first standard under CBSE board is that the candidate should have completed a minimum age of 5 years 6 months as on 31st March of the year of admission.

The minimum age criteria is required for the admission in the first standard of CBSE board school in 5 years old at the time of admission.
Candidates must attain an age of 5 years at the time of admission.
