LL.B. - Bachelor of Law and after 12th one can purse LL.B for 5 years which is called as Integrated LL.B.

The age limit for admission to 5 years LL.B. course after 12th is 20 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

Apart from this, the eligible candidate being an Indian National having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board, can apply for LL.B. through entrance exam like CLAT(Common Law Admission Test)

After completing 12th you can not take admission for LLB but integrated LLB course. While the duration of LLB course is 3 years the duration is 5 years for the integrated LLB course.

As you may know that to pursue LLB you are required to complete graduation. Therefore there are two options in front of the students. You can first complete a graduation course after which apply for the 3 years LLB course.

Alternatively you can apply for the integrated LLB course which includes a bachelor degree and LLB. This is the reason why the duration is 5 years for the course and the course can be taken up directly after finishing 12th.

The integrated degrees offered are BA LLB, B.Com LLB, B.Sc LLB, BBA LLB etc. This is the course which you can apply for after finishing 12th.

The entrance exam will be Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted by the National Law Universities (NLUs). This is the yearly entrance exam for which you must have completed 12th.

CLAT Eligibility

1. Open only for the Indian nationals.

2. Can apply after finishing 12th standard.

3. At least 45 percent marks in 12th are required.

4. SC/ST can appear with 40 percent marks.

5. Age limit is 20 years for the exam.

6. 22 years is the limit for SC and ST.

If you want to apply for Law course after 12th then your age should be below 20 years.

For SC/ST age should be below 22 years means they will get 2 years relaxation.

Also you should have atleast 45% marks in 10+2 to become eligible for the entrance examination
.

For SC/ST only 40% marks is required for appearing into entrance examination.

CLAT(Common Law Admission Test) is conducted for admission into 14 top Law Universities of India every year for Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses in Law.

The Under Graduate course in Law will be of 5 years duration and you have to get a very good rank in CLAT to get admission into top college.

So be prepared for the entrance examination. The exam will be objective type in nature and there will be negative marking so you have to attempt carefully.

The Universities which are under CLAT are:
