My father aged 55 works as a Chief Manager in the Federal Bank of India. He joined the bank at the age of 22 as Agricultural Field Officer. His annual income including salary exceeds the prescribed annual income limit. But I heard that the salary is not taken into account while calculating annual income for reservation. Do I belong to the Non-creamy layer category? Can I avail OBC reservation benefits?

The salary of parents is taken into account for division of creamy and non creamy candidates under Other Backward class candidates.

1. The limit is 8 lacs per annum. Candidates whose parent's income is below 8 lacs are eligible for reservation benefits.

The benefits are 27% reservation of seats, cut off marks are less as compared to creamy and open category candidates.
