B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) is offered by Universities through regular as well as distance mode and depending upon the mode of study, the duration of the program varies.

• The minimum duration of Bachelor of Education program pursued under regular mode is 1 year.
• The minimum duration of Bachelor of Education program pursued under distance mode is 2 years.

However, in order to pursue the program though distance mode, you must be working as a teacher in a school since two years or more whereas, for regular mode of B.Ed program, no such experience is required. As far as academic qualification concerned, in both the modes, candidate must hold a bachelors degree. To pursue the course through regular mode, candidate need to score a minimum of 45% marks, which in some of the universities is 50% and varies depending upon the university.

B.Ed degree is a must for eligibility to apply in private reputed schools or govt schools on permanent or temporary basis .

If you want to become a TGT ( Trained Graduate Teacher ) then you must study B.Ed Degree .

B.Ed course available in Regular & distance mode .

In regular mode , it is a one year course

In distance mode , it is a two years course

Eligibility : Candidates must have Graduation with min of 50% aggregate from a recognized University

B.Ed entrance examination is undertaken by various universities of the different states to admit students in various education colleges attached with it for the one year course of B.Ed.

Duration of B.Ed Course:

The Colleges offers One Year Programme known as B.Ed.

For Pursuing the B.Ed course which candidate should be graduate or have appeared in the final year of graduation. some of universities have also set minimum marks as 50% to be eligible for taking this exam.

Candidates should have completed the age of 19 years of the year in which notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit.

B.Ed entrance is usually conducted in the month of July.

Duration of the B.Ed. Course:
The course of study shall be for duration of one academic year consisting of 180 working days / Curriculum transaction days or 1080 hours (5 days per week@6 hour per day) excluding admission and examination days.

The 180 working days will include teaching practice, revision examination and study holidays.
