What course and exams are required to become a Custom Officer?
I am doing my final year B.Tech(I.T). i am very much interested to become an customs officer. I don't have anyone to guide me. I just want to know what course should i study, where, what all the exams should i write to get into custom.

hiiiiiiiiiii................Officers of customs and central excise services are appointed through UPSC examination.
State Public Service Commission Allied Services Examination gives state level jobs in customs and Excise. |

you can write The Combined Graduate Level Examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission the detail syllabous is given below The Written Examination will consist of the following papers: Paper I (Objective) It will consist of i. Reasoning Ability (Bilingual) ii. General Knowledge and Current Affairs (Bilingual) iii. Numerical Ability (Bilingual) iv. English Language with special emphasis on grammar and vocabulary. Paper II (Descriptive) It will consist of i. Test on Essay (can be written in Hindi or English) ii. Precise and Comprehension in English 5. Syllabus a. Test of Reasoning Ability: This test has been designed to judge you’re thinking power, contains questions of various kinds. The test will be partly verbal, i.e., based on or related to words and partly non-verbal, i.e., based on or related to figures and drawings. b. Test of Numerical Ability: The purpose of this test is to ascertain how quick you are in working at numerical calculations. c. General Knowledge and Current Affairs: The purpose of this test is to ascertain a candidate’s general awareness of environment around him and its application to society. The questions will be designed to test the candidate’s knowledge of the current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience as may be expected of an educated person, including topics on Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, etc. There may also be questions on Geography of India, land and her people, History of India, her cultural heritage, freedom struggle and salient features of the Constitution of India, Economic and Social Problems. d. English Language: The purpose of this test is to gauge your knowledge of English. Your ability will also be tested through your choice of words, expressions and similar skills. best of luck |

yes you are absolutely eligible for customs offficer but you must have completed your graduation at the time of filling of application form and for more details you can login into www.ssc.nic.in website which can guide you perfectly how to become a customs officer. wish you all the best and good luck in life..

dear friend,
if you want to be a customs officer then this section is done through the ssc, so you have to write for this exam,and minimum qualification for this exam is graduation.so on that basis your are also eligible, so go and fill the form and prepare well for the exam. ok best of luck |

Hi!
Yes you are eligible for the custome officer exam. The basic eligibility will be graduation in any decipline of education having minimum of 50% marks. you just fill the application form for the custom officer, you can get it from www.ssc.nic. The paper consist of two part. in first part gk, apptitude resoning(verbal and non-verbal), and in the second part english and precise writting,comprehensions etc are there. So prepare well for the exam. Good luck!! |

The minimum qualification needed to join the customs/excise department is graduation. The officers of the customs and central excise are appointed through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination. It will consist of Reasoning, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Numerical Ability and English Language. Also there will be another test consisting of Essay writing, Precise writing.
