Excise inspectors are those professionals who are generally concerned with the excise duty related dealings of Central Board of Excise and Custom Taxes which is a segment of Central Government. The basic qualification to become an Excise inspector is a graduation from any recognized University. Another requisite to become an Excise inspector is to pass prelims and mains test conducted by the authority.
Custom officers are those people whose responsibility is to ensure that no smuggling takes place within the country. They control import and export of various goods with the objective of collecting duty and to maintain a check on the entry of prohibited and also restricted goods. The basic qualification required to become a Custom officer is a graduation from any accredited University. They have to clear the Civil Service Exam to get placed as a Custom officer.
Aspirants who are looking forward to both these professions need a pass in the personality test which is the biggest hurdle.
