Hi Guest,
cut off for 2nd year admissions depends on your Category. Different college has different seats for general merit, OBC (NCL) and SC/ST candidates. Generally each collage has about 5 to 10 seats for diploma holders. And if you have selected a good college prior to going to counselling and you have good score as well, you may not get that college.

(for example: If your Rank is 3 out of 1000 in your course and you select top college which is having 1 seats for sc/st and 1 seat for OBC and 2 for General merit students and you are general merit candidate then you cannot get that college if the other top 2 candidates takes the seat under general merit).

So you have choose 2 to 3 colleges before going to counselling.
