CDS I examination will be held on 12.02.12.

CDS Stands for Combined Defence Service examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year.CDS I examination notification was already released and the examination will be conducted on 12/February/12 and the notification details was available in official website of Union Public Service Commission.CDS examination is conducted for recruitment of following defence services :-

>>Indian Military Academy
>>Indian Naval Academy
>>Indian Air force Academy
>>Officer Training Academy(SSC-Men)
>>Officer Training Academy(SSC-Women)

Important dates for CDS I (2012) :-

• Date of Notification :- 29.10.11
• Last date for receipt of application :- 28.11.11
• Date of examination :- 12.02.12

Important dates for CDS II (2012) :-

• Date of Notification :- 02.06.12
• Last date for receipt of application :- 02.07.12
• Date of examination :- 16.09.12

Minimum Qualification for this examination is graduate degree or bachelor's of engineering with any desire subject from a recognized University or equivalent qualification and those in final year of degree can apply for this examination but there is no backlogs at the time of appearing for this examination if you have any arrears in your examination then you are not eligible to apply for this examination.

Age limits for CDS examination :-

Military Academy :- Unmarried male candidate should have a minimum 19 years and maximum 24 years.

Naval Academy :- Unmarried male candidate should have a minimum 19 years and maximum 22 years.

Air force Academy :- Unmarried male candidate should have a minimum 19 years and maximum 23 years.

Officer Training Academy :- Unmarried male candidate should have a minimum 19 years and maximum 25 years.

CDS exam is conducted by UPSC twice time in a year .Only graduate persons are applicable for CDS exam.The exam details are given below-

CDS Educational Qualifications :

1. For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy : Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.

2. For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering for CDSE and Degree in Engineering or B.Sc. ( with Physics or Mathematics ) for NCC entry.

3. For Air Force Academy : Degree of recognized University ( with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level ) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Age-limits:

19-24 Years Indian Military Academy
19-22 Years Naval Academy
19-23 Years Air Force Academy
19-25 Years Officers’ Training Academy


C.D.S. EXAM.(II), 2012

Date of Notification/Last date for receipt of applications: 02.06.2012/02.07.2012
Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 16.09.2012

CDS I Examination for the current year is scheduled to take place today.

CDS II exam is scheduled to take place on 16th Sept, 2012, as per UPSC's examination calendar for 2012. The notification will be issued on 2nd June and the applications should be received not later than 2nd July.

Let me know the difference between Bachelore of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology. Syllabus wise, career wise which is to be preferred? Please enlighten me the complete details.

The information for CDS is given below:

The date of notification of CDS was on 29th October,2011

The last date for receipt of application was on 28th November,2011

The date of examination was on 12.02.12
