Default Re: What is the eligibility for Assistant Professor?

Initially there was ambiguity created by the AICTE’s interpretation of the norms of University Grants Commission (UGC) for the eligibility criteria required for the post of Assistance professor. According to UGC, any candidate having Master’s degree (min 55 % marks) in engineering & tech. is eligible. But now according to the new AICTE norms, a candidate should have M.Tech. along with B.Tech. degree for teaching B.Tech. students. But if an aspiring candidate has M.Tech degree with MCA/M.Sc. degree, he/she will not be allowed to teach B.Tech. courses( as B.Tech degree is compulsory).
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
