To be considered eligible to take National Eligibility Test (NET) for Sanskrit, you will need to complete your masters degree program, M.A. in Sanskrit and must score a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examination (Masters Degree examination). However, if you belong to SC/ST category, you may apply for the test even if you have scored 50% marks in the qualifying exam.

If along with the lectureship eligibility, if you are also willing to apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), than you will need to be within the age limit of 28 years. Candidates above 28 years are not allowed to apply for Junior Research Fellowship.

Candidates above 30 years are not eligible to Junior Research Fellowship.
