What is the minimum educational criteria to become an Income Tax Officer?
Which subject should be taken to become a Income Tax Officer? What should I do after 12th to become an Income Tax Officer? Which Graduate degree course should I do? And, should I also go for any professional degree like ACCA or Indian CA?

You can join Income tax as an officer after qualifying in civil Service or SSC CGL examination.
The required minimum educational qualification is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree form a recognised university. The age limit varies with examination. Candidates have to qualify in all stages of examination for final selection. For more information visit at www.upsc.gov.in or www.ssc.nic.in. |

After 12th, you can complete graduation in any discipline from any University/Institute approved by UGC.
Also, to be eligible for becoming Income Tax Officer, your age must be between 18 to 27 years. 3 years age relaxation is given to OBC candidates while 5 years relaxation is offered to SC/ST candidates. There is no need to pursue courses like ACCA or Indian CA to be eligible for becoming Income Tax Officer. However, it will be additional benefits for you if complete above professional course as it is related to Commerce stream only. |
