The preferable height for a candidate of 18 years of age is 157 cm for males.

MEDICAL STANDARDS
(a) Height . The preferable height for a candidate of 18 years of age is 157 cm for males and 152 cm for females.
(b) Weight . Table showing correlation between age, height and weight are given at for Male and Female candidates respectively. This is to be used as a guide making allowance for build as necessary. The criteria for selection should be general build of the body and proportionate development rather than rigid, adherence to the above standards. Overweight and Underweight individuals who are otherwise fit in every respect may be accepted at the discretion of the Recruiting Medical Officer / Medical Board. The weight should not however vary from the average by more than 10%.


(c) Anthropometric Measurement . The acceptable anthropometric standard for aviation entries i.e Short Service Commission(Aviation & Observer) entry for both male and female are as follows:-

1. Minimum Height-162.5 cm
2. Sitting Height- Minimum 81.5 cm,Maximum-96.0 cm
3. Leg Length – Minimum-99.0 cm,Maximum-120.0 cm
4. Thigh Length-Maximum-64.0

If you want to Join Indian Navy at the Officers level just after passing class 12th, than you have to appear in the UPSC NDA exams.
This exam is conducted two times in a year

Minimum height to join the indian Navy is 152 cms
Minimum weight should be 45 Kgs

Other Eligibilty criteria are:

Educational Qualifications:
Army Wing:12th Pass in any stream
Airforce and Navy Wing: 12th Pass with Subject Physics and Maths

AGE- Minimum 16.5 years
Maximum age- 19 years

NDA stands for National Defence Service.

It is conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

Eligibility criteria for NDA exam :-

1] The candidate must be an Indian.

2] The age limit of the candidate must be between 16 to 19 years.

3] The candidate must be unmarried male.

4] The candidate must be passed his 12th class from any recognized board.

5] The candidate must be physically as well as mentally fit.

>> For Indian Army :- The candidate must be passed his 12th class in any stream from any recognized board.

>> For Indian Air Force and Indian Navy :- The candidate must be passed his 12th class with Mathematics and Physics as a compulsory subject from any recognized board.

Selection process for NDA exam consists of three stages :-
