The required percentage criteria for admission in to the M.Tech program varies from Institute to Institute. Institutions such as BITS Mesra, SRM University considers candidates with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying Examination whereas Universities such as VIT considers candidate with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the same. Admission is based on valid GATE score or by qualifying the Entrance Examination conducted by the Institution if any.

Following are the list some of the other Institutes with minimum percentage criteria in the qualifying Examinations.
  • IIT - Delhi [ 70% aggregate]
  • NITTTR, Bhopal - [55% aggregate marks]
  • Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati [60% aggregate marks]
For detail information one may refer to the official website of the Institute of concern.

GATE is the qualification required to join M.Tech. Certain institutes also consider marks obtained in B.Tech for admission. IIT’s usually insist a minimum of 60% marks for admission. Cut off marks required to join BIT Mersa is also 60%. Aggregate of 70% marks is required to join M.Tech in IIT Delhi.
