I want to take admission in UPES Dehradun in oil&gas management.can anyone tell me is it better than doing my mba in finance or marketing?what is the placement record there&wht abt the avg salary?

A close interaction between the Institute and various company executives has created excellent placement record for the upcoming 2012 batch as well. Close to 55% students have already received job offer and over 100 companies have visited us for the outgoing 2012 batch so far. Companies of repute like ONGC, Torrent Pharma, Schlumberger, Tata Projects Ltd., TCS, Cairn India Ltd., Punj Lloyd, Accenture, Infosys, L&T etc visited us recently. The highest CTC that has been offered so far is INR15 lacs pa. The average CTC across all other programs has increased considerably. A good number of companies are expected to visit us in March 2012 and we intend to maintain quality placements throughout.

Minimum 50% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)
B.Tech./ BE (Civil/Electrical/ Mechanical/ EEE)/ B.Sc. (PCM) with minimum 50% marks from a recognized University

Admission Criteria

UPES Management Entrance Test (UPES-MET) / National Level Test + Group Discussion & Interview.click here

Students having minimum CAT Score of 70 percentile/ MAT 75 percentile/ GMAT Scores/ AICTE’s CMAT score will be exempted from UPES Management Entrance Test and will be called for Group Discussion & Interview only.

But i would say that if you know anybody inperson over their in college.they would tell you better about the packages and all.

Congratulations for your score! You've scored pretty good score! Based on your MAT Scores you can get in to the bschools like Alliance School of Business, Bangalore, Christ University, Bangalore, Welingkars Mumbai and UPES Dehradun. I've heard UPES has already announced its GD PI schedule for March and its starting from 14th March. You can get the details on official website of UPES. Hope this info helps! Good luck!

Yes, you're eligible...minimum cut off is NMAT with 160. This program is the newly launched course and on offer from this year itself but around 90% MBA graduates are generally placed in companies of repute year on year in all of their MBA branches..so you can give it a shot as they have quite good placement cell.
