you have to score 200 minimum rank in gate exam for open category..in Delhi IIT..first you should score high marks in gate exam..and after that if you got minimum 200 rank in gate exam then apply for counsiling to IIT colleges for admission..then they will call you for interview..if you select in interview,written test and group discussions you will get admission..

dear user in order to get admission in IIT for M-TECH program first you will have to crack GATE with a good rank such as 150 to 200... After getting the rank you will be able to go for counselling program..

There will be three stages to get admission as follows -

1. written exam
2. Group discussion
3.personal interview

Depending upon all performance on all these stages you will get selected as well as depending upon your preference you can get IIT-DELHI

Getting admission in IIT is not an easy task. IITs are the best Engineering institutes in India therefore lakhs of students apply for admission in IITs for B.Tech and M.Tech courses. In order to get admission in IIT, you will have to perform very well in B.Tech and the GATE entrance exam.

Here is the procedure to apply for the M.Tech course in IIT.


To be eligible for admission in IITs, firstly you need at least 60 percent marks in B.Tech course. Candidates who have scored less than 60 percent would find it extremely difficult to get admission in IIT.


The second step would be to appear in the General Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) entrance exam. GATE exam is conducted for candidates who wish to apply for M.Tech in India. Final year students of B.Tech course are also eligible to appear in the GATE entrance exam. The GATE score remains valid for 2 years only.


You would have to perform well in the GATE exam. I would recommend taking one GATE exam in Final year of B.Tech and if didn't performed well, another exam after completing the B.Tech course.


A good GATE score does not necessarily means that you would get admission in IIT. It is just the first step. Now you would have to apply for the IIT. Send the application and wait for their response.


Candidates who are selected by the IIT would be called upon and have to go through tough admission process. The first step would be Written Test which is mandatory regardless of how many marks you have scored in GATE. Therefore please be prepared for a test related to your core subject.


Computer Science is one of the most competitve branch of IIT for admission. Therefore don't just stick to IIT Delhi. If you really want to study M.Tech in IIT then apply for admission in as many IITs as possible.

In the third step you would be called for Interview. This is the most important part of admission in IIT. There have been several incidents when candidate who has passed the written test has failed to get admission because of not performing well in Interview.

To get admission in IIT Delhi for M.Tech you must crack GATE exam with good rank above 150 rank then you get admission in IIT Delhi for M.Tech

ELIGIBILITY

*A CGPA of 6.75 for General l OBC (6.25 for SC/ST/PH) on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 60% marks (55% for SC / ST/ PH) in aggregate (of all the years/semesters of the qualifying exam.

*A relaxation in CGPA/marks to 6.25 (55%) is also available to those with M.A. Degree in English, for admission to Ph.D

*For admission to Full time Ph.D. l M.Tech. l M .S. (R) programme, the GATE Score of a candidate wherever required should not be lower than the minimum prescribed viz. 300 for General/OBC and 200 for SC/ST/ PH candidate.

*admission to M. Des. Programme the candidates are required to have CEED score with the same Score.

*Based on the facts furnished in the application, a screening will be performed and selected candidates will be asked to appear for a competitive entrance process that includes written and programming tests and interview.


*Written test will contain objective and/or short subjective questions.

*The questions will cover a typical B.Tech. CSE / ECE curriculum.

*The written test for ECE may also ask the student to write pseudo code to test his/her ability in microcontroller/FPGA programming.

*In the programming test for CSE, candidates will be asked to write and execute a few programs in one of four languages (C, C++, C#, JAVA).


*The list of selected candidated and waitlisted candidates will be prepared based on the written test (and programming test, for CSE) performance.
