i want to know what course one have to offer before becoming an officer

To become Custom officer ,you need to appear for CGPE(Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam) which is conducted by the SSC(Staff Selection Commission).

Educational Eligibility criteria:

You should be complete graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
Final year appearing candidates should also eligible for this exam.

Citizenship:
You should be a citizen of India.

Age criteria:

Age limits is 20 years to 27 years,

For OBC category candidates 3 years upper age relaxation,

For SC/ST category candidates 5 years upper age relaxation.

Selection process:

Preliminary exam,
Main exam,
Interview.

If you want to be the custom officer then you must qualifying the civil services exams and this is conducted by the UPSC.

Civil service exams provide the 27 different services like.,.Indian customs and Central Excise Services.

And for this exam the selection processor is conducted by 2 parts like

1. Preliminary exam

2. Main Exam

Apart from the eligibility criteria the preliminary exam after qualifying called for the main exam and after selecting the above mention 2 exams you can go Chennai for training in customs department.

Eligibility Criteria:

1.For this exam you should pass the bachelor of degree with above 50%
marks.

2.And age limit should be 19 years

3.Indian citizenship

REQUIRED QUALITIES:
1. For this position you need to to have the vehicle licence and ability to work flexible schedules and you have the reliable transportation.
2.And you don't used drugs of any kind and you should complete training required for th edesired position and uou must be able to activate radio or telephone equipment and console monitors.

PREPARATION:

1.For this exam you need to prepare every day because of this is getting difficulty and for written test syllabus like...current affairs and general awareness.

2.For this you can read daily newspapers regularly and you ashould have goof knowledge in English,G.K.,and basic Mathematics etc.

The functions of the customer Department is to control the import and export of goods with the purpose of collecting duty and maintain a check on the entry of prohibited and restricted goods.

QUALIFICATION :

In order to become a Customer Officer , the aspirants will have to appear for Civil service examination. It is conducted by UPSC . the exam is conducted in two parts that is preliminary and main exam followed by interview round .

To be eligible for customer officer a bachelor's degree is needed. The aspirants must have score 55% from a recognized university .

Age limit : 18 years above to 30 years

** Must be Indian Citizen

1-The minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for this exam is a bachelor degree in any stream.

2-The minimum eligible age for general candidate is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years.

AGE RELAXATIONS

Relaxation of age for candidate belonging to OBC category is 3 years and for candidate belonging to SC/ST category is 5 years.

Preliminary examination-conducted during the second half of may.
In the preliminary exam, you will have to write two papers.
