Minimum academic qualification:

To be considered eligible for the IIT-Joint Entrance Examination, you must have qualified higher secondary examination or 3 years diploma program from an AICTE approved institute with a minimum of 60% marks.
The required percentage of marks is relaxed upto 5% for candidates belonging to Sc/St category.

Maximum age limit:

• For candidates belonging to general category, the maximum age limit is 25 years.
• For candidates belonging to Sc/St category, the maximum age limit is 30 years.

IIT JEE is one of the top most Entrance exams in the country. It is regarded as the toughest Entrance for the under graduate level.
Now this is organized by the IIT's every year in the month of April every year right after the board exams are concluded for the selection of the students for the various B.Tech courses in the IIT Campuses all over India.

Coming to your query, The Basic Eligibility Criteria to take up IIT JEE are as follows :-

1. You should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school. You must be a clear pass in all the subjects.

2. IIT grants only 2 consecutive attempts. So you cannot apply beyond those.

3. You must have scored at least 60% aggregate in your 12th boards.


So any person who fulfills these above mentioned criteria's is eligible for the IIT JEE.

IIT stands for Indian institute of Technology
JEE stands for Joint Entrance Exam.
'you can give this exam after or appearing 12th class.
you have only two chance one is after giving 12th class exam and next attemp will be continue next year after 12th class.
from 2013 exam there will a common entrance exam for AIEEE and IIT but IIT take a advance exam after that applicable candidate can get admission in IIT
*candidate should have science with maths subject to give the IIT entrance exam.

IIT-JEE(Indian Institute of Technology ) that is IIT'S are the top most reputed engineering Institutes in our country.there are a total of 15 IIT's in our country.

to get admission in these reputed institutes IIT-JEE is conducted every year.
but one needs to be eligible to sit in the examination...

Eligibility criteria---JEE

~~one needs to pass or be appearing in the class XII or its equivalent from a recognized board or state board...

~~there is a percentage required to sit in the exam for general and OBC it is 60%

~~For SC/ST it is 55% and same for Disable also..

~~one can give two atempts at IIT-JEE exam on consecutive years.

To give the IIT JEE exam you need to have minimum 60% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level.
At the most you can give this exam for 2 times.
Relaxation for the SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Dear IIT-JEE aspirant,

IIT-JEE is one of the Toughest Engineering Entrance Exam that was earlier conducted jointly by IITs for admission to IITs all over India.

But now, IIT-JEE exam will not be commenced from next year and onwards.

It will be replaced by a fresh new pattern called JEE Mains and JEE Advanced Exam.

It would be effective from 2013 onwards.

Minimum Qualification required to be eligible for JEE Mains Exam is nearly similar to AIEEE Exam while for JEE Advanced Exam, it is as same as for IIT-JEE Exam.
