UPSC conducts an entrance test for the recruitment of Customs Officers. It consists of two stages - the preliminary test and mains. You need to clear the written test and the personal interview. Then only you can expect employment as Customs Officer. You need to decide whether you would like to work for the State level or the National level. For the State level you will need to appear for the SPSC exam.

In case you would like to work as an officer of the customs and central excise services or as a senior superintendents then you will need to appear for the UPSC exam which is conducted at the National Level.

The qualification criterion to apply for the test is a graduation in any disciplines. In addition, you should satisfy the physical standards of fitness. Those who are involved in any civil related issues like criminal record, drugs will be considered ineligible for the test. If you satisfy all the eligibility requisites, then you can attend the test.

Notification for the test will be published in prime employment dailies.

About Custom Officer:

~ Nice to take this officer and this department comes under the revenue department of ministry of finance and this is control the import and export of goods for check on the entry of prohibited and restricted goods.

~ If you want to become a custom officer then you must qualifying the civil services exams and this is conducted by the UPSC.

~ civil service exams provide the 27 different services like;.. Indian Customs & Central Excise Services.

~ And for this exam the selection processor is conducted by 2 parts like;..Preliminary and Main exam.

~ Apart form first conducted the preliminary exam after qualifying called for main exam and after selecting the above mention 2 exams you can go chennai for training in customs department .


Eligibility Criteria:

- For this exam you should pass the bachelor of degree with above 55% of marks.

If you are interested in Customs Jobs under Central Excise Department, Than you have to appear in the SSC conducted Combined Graduate Level exams


ELIGIBILTY --- Graduation pass in any stream
No Minimum Percentage is required in Graduation

AGE- Minimum 18 years
Maximum 27 years
AGE Relaxations- 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CUSTOM OFFICER

Recruitment to Indian Customs officer of government is done through civil services exam conducted by UPSC. So, to become a custom officer you need to appear in civil services exam.

Candidate must be Completed a graduation degree from any recognized university with any discipline.

Your graduation marks must be above 55% for custom officer exam.

Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years.

Age relaxation is provide only for SC/ST/OBC candidate .For Sc/ST candidate have age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC candidate it is 3 years.
