What are the requirements to become an IES Officer?


How to become and in what way I have to go from Intermediate 11th/12th to become an IES Officer? And, what is the standard minimum educational requirements?

To apply for upcoming IES exam, you must satisfy following eligibility parameters.

Nationality
  • Resident of India, Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan refugee

Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in field of engineering from recognized University

Age limit
  • 21 to 30 years (as on January 1, 2020)

IES stands for Indian Engineering Services.

IES examination is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) every year.

The educational qualifications required for the UPSC IES examination are mentioned below:-

1. Candidates must have completed their graduation degree in Engineering discipline from any recognised college or, university.

2. Final year candidates are also eligible.

3. Age limit:- 21-30 years.

4. Age Relaxation:- 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

5. Nationality:- Indian.

IES Eligibility is listed below:

Resident of India, Nepal, Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee can apply for IES 2020.

Candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering from a recognized University.

IES Age limit: 21-30 years as on January 01, 2020.
