Re: What is the scope available in BBA? What can we do do after that other than MBA? What is the eligibility criteria?
BBA stands for Bachelor in Business Administration. It is three years long course in the field on management. This degree today has very little value because most people are pursuing Master in Business Administration (MBA) which is post graduation course in the same field.
To pursue Bachelor in Business Administration you should have passed Class 12th with at least 40 percent marks and English as one of the subjects. Failing to do so, you would not get admission for BBA. As I mentioned earlier, today there isn't much job scope only after completing BBA. Therefore those who take this field is recommended to go for MBA course after that. Even though you want to know other options, I would strongly recommed MBA to you after completing BBA. Otherwise it is better that you take up some other course. You should only pick BBA if you have interest in management otherwise what is the point to do so. Today it has become sort of trend to go for MBA after completing the BBA course. The post graduation in management opens various jobs opportunities to the candidates. One of the most preferred stream is MBA in Finance, which is generally taken by the candidates interested in banking or stock broking sectors. To do MBA, you will have to appear for entrance exams like CAT or Management Aptitude Test. Common Admission Test or CAT is preferred by candidates who want admission in IIMs, the top B-Schools in India while those who fail to make the cut for CAT or do not have required percentage to sit in Common Admission Test prefer to appear for MAT exam. However it is not essential to take up the MBA after completing BBA course. There are other options. Among them perhaps the most popular would be Master in Computer Applications (MCA). Only those who have interest in computers opt for this course. MCA can be taken up by any candidate who had Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 level. To take up MCA, you would need at least 50-60 percent marks in BBA. Even after that it is important to appear for the entrance exam conducted by the various universities. Only after performing well in a entrance exam, you would be able to secure admission. Chartered Accountacy is another good option which you can consider after completing BBA. There is huge demand of CA in India. But I should warn you that very few candidates manages to pass CA Exam every year. The number is well below 10 percent. If you have scored at least 60 percent marks in BBA then you can get admission for second stage of IPCC course. In other cases you would have to start from the beginning. Company Secretary is also a viable option. As you may know the role of CS is to ensure that the company is following all the rules and regulations that are set by the government of India. Today it is important for every Indian company with capital share of worth Rs 5 crores to appoint a Company Secretary. The CS ensures that board of directors are following all the laws. He/She also has to implement decision taken by the Board. Company Secretary also mediate between enforcement agency/government and the company on various issues. |
