IPS stands for Indian Police Service and this examination was Conducted by UPSC Every year and to become IAS/IPS Officer you need to complete your Graduation degree course in any discipline form a recognised university.

So, If your aim is to become IAS/IPS Officer then for this you have to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination and this examination was Conducted by UPSC Comission and Only Graduate candidates are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination.

>> The examination was Held in 2 Stages - preliminary examination and Main examination, Preliminary examination are also called CSAT (Civil services aptitude test).

And Firstly candidates have to cracked the Preliminary examination and only then you are eligible to sit in main examination, Main examination was descriptive and you have to choose any one Optional subject.

>> And to apply for this examination your age should between 21 to 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates. So, please complete your Graduation degree course and then apply for this examination.

General Candidates will gets 4 Attempts To cracked this examination.

OBC Candidates will gets 7 Attempts

No Limits for SC/ST Candidates.

The Notification of this examination was Published in the employment Newspaper OR in the UPSC website in the Month of February.

>> Preliminary examination was Objective and there are 2 Papers in this examination, So please prepare for this examination according to the syllabus and for more Information please check the UPSC website.

yes,you will be eligiable for the IPS Officer being a candidate of Commerce stream.

But to be an IPS Officer, you have to give civil service exam. which is conducted by the UPSC.

but before appearing in the Civil service exam, you have to be a graduate candidate.

the other eligibility criteria for IPS exam is

>>Nationality
candidate must be a citizen of India.

>>Age Limits:

21-30 years for general candidate.

For SC/ST candidates between 21 and 35 years of age.

For OBC candidates between 21 and 33 years of age.

Its a very good decision to become an IPS officer.But you have to complete your graduation first.
To become an IPS officer there exists some eligibility criteria
Educational Qualifications:
You must posses a degree from any recognized university of India
You can apply in your final year also
Age limit:
For general category age limit is 21-30 years
relaxation is provided as per government rules
3 for OBC
5 for Sc/St
Nationality:
Should be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan

To become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer you have to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year after Graduation in any stream.

The eligible candidate aspiring for IPS, Civil service Exam, must be an Indian National having either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical health.

The candidate applying for IPS should have minimum Physical requirement such as:-

HEIGHT:- General Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

CHEST:-Male-84cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases.

As you are now in 11th standard, so after 12th you should start your preparation accordingly for IPS as the Civil Service Exam is very tough and competitive and needs rigorous preparation.

What to do to Become IPS Officer

The exam conducted for getting into the Indian Police Service(IPS) is the Civil Service Exam

candidates are eligible to appear for the exam only if :-

>> candidate has completed graduation in any stream from a recognized University..

>> candidate must be within the age limit of 21-30 years if general..21-33 years if OBC and 21-35 years if SC/ST..

>> general candidates can appear for the exam at max 4 times, 7 times for OBC and no limit for SC/ST candidates..

You haven't even completed your 11th yet..so I would advice you to first concentrate on completion of your 12th so that you are able to get your desired stream of graduation..

After you start your graduation..you must start your preparations for the Civil Services..

there are 2 stages in the written exam of Civil Services :-

>> Prelims where you will be tested on the basis of your aptitude and GK..

>> Mains which shall test your graduation knowledge and English..

>> Interview Round

>> Physical Exam Round
