Dear Friend
None of the engineering stream is good or bad. There are some parameters and specialties on the basis of which people decide that which one is best suitable for them. The parameters are; Reputation of College Your Interest Placement Scenario of the college Fee Structure Type of job and your compatibility with that type of job etc. If you are getting Marine engineering in such a college where placement is good and other parameters suit you then it is good to take Marine. The best institution for this is, Indian Maritime University (Mumbai, Vishakhapattnam and Chennai Campus). If you are getting Mechanical Engineering in some IIT then Mechanical Engineering is a better choice. Marine Engineering could be a tough job because sometime it will take you to long journey like months and sometime it could delight you because you will get chances to roam the whole world for free. The salary of marine engineers use to be very high. Mechanical engineering is a core and ever green branch. If you do this engineering there are numerous job in this field in public and private sector companies. In general it can be said that you will have lesser work, lesser expenditure while studies, lesser pay, lesser stress. You should analyze all these factors and decide yourself that which one better suits you. |

Both the fields are equally good. Mechanical basically involves machines and their working whereas marine requires extra additional qualifications like eye power you need to spend more time in sea

If you are really interested in Marine Sure Go into that.. but you must keep one in mind that if you do mech you can go to marine but doing marine you cn't jump into mech....N the Job of Marine in India are poor....Think and Decide.......All the Best

Re: What should I do between B.E Marine Engineering and Mechanical Engineering after 12th? Which one is a better scope?
Do B.E.Mechanical Engineering. The scope for marine engineers have got down. i've completed B.E. Marine Engineering in 2012 aug. the companies are preffering the marine engineers via mechanical engineers. so dont think about anything.directly join mechanical engineering. from there you can go to many fields like production, marine, air force and so on..
