What is the syllabus for CDS exam? I need the previous year question papers to start the preparation so kindly give me the papers and let me know the pattern followed for the exam to get prepared accordingly. Awaiting to get the response soon. Thanks!

CDS refers to Combined Defense Services and CDS examination is held twice every year by UPSC for selection of deserving candidates for their recruitment as commission officer in Indian defense sector.

As far as you are concerned about getting the complete syllabus for CDS entrance examination then for that you need to download the notification released for the same examination from the link www.upsc.gov.in.

Further from the same link you can also download the last year papers of same examination along with their correct responses.

CDS(Combined Defense Services) exam carried out twice in a year bu UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) to recruit candidates in different branches of defense services and these branches are as follows:-

1). Indian navy.
2). Indian army.
3). Indian air force.

>> The selection procedure for CDS exam written exam followed by personal interview and a medical exam after that selected candidate send for traning in following military training centers:-

1). Indian military academy(Dehradun).
2). Indian navel academy(Ezhimala).
3). Officers training academy(Chennai).
4). Air force academy (Hyderabad).

ELIGIBILITY REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR CDS EXAM:-

> Applicant must be Indian citizen.
> Candidate age should be in between 19 to 25 years.
> Candidate should be unmarried.
> Candidate should be physically and mentally strong.

EXAM PATTERN FOR CDS EXAM:- The CDS exam is of objective type.

> English exam carries 100 marks.
> General knowledge carries 100 marks.
> Elementary mathematics carries 100 marks.

So CDS exam carries total of 300 marks.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION DATES FOR EXAM:-

:-- Exam notification announced for CDS II:- 9 August 2017.

:-- Last date for application form:- 8 September 2017.

:-- Examination date:- 19th November 2017.
