What is the syllabus for IAS exam? I am a B.E IT branch student

Selection to IAS is conducted in two main stages, prelims and mains. General aptitude, general science, Indian Polity, history of India, Indian/world geography, etc forms the syllabus for prelims exam. General studies and English language are the main areas covered in mains exam. There will be 7 papers for mains, out of which one is optional paper. Detailed syllabus can be collected from UPSC portal.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.There is not require any kind of Percentage marks for IAS Exam. Yes , BE in IT department are applicable for IAS exam. Age Criteria :- 21-30 years for the GENERAL candidates 21-33 years for the OBC candidates 21-35 years for the SC\ST candidates The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. The acronym for IAS is Indian Administrative Services. Yes, you are eligible for the IAS examination. UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) conducts IAS examination through the civil services examination. The eligibility criteria required for the civil services examination(IAS) are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in any discipline from any accredited college or university. * Final year contendors are also eligible. * Age limit:- 21-30 yrs. * Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC, 5 yrs for SC/ST and 10 yrs for PWD contendors. * Nationality:- Indian. * No. of attempts:- 4 for General, 7 for OBC and no attempts for SC/ST contendors. The selection procedure for IAS examination is mentioned as below:- * Preliminary examination. * Mains examination. * Interview. |

IN the UPSC Prelims exams there will be two papers.
Both these papers will be of Objective type These papers are common for all the candidates who appear in the exams. Below is the syallabus for these two papers: Paper one History of India and Indian National Movement. Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World. Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization. General Science. Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc. Paper Two Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision-making and problem-solving Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills; General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. English Language Comprehension skills |
